Protect Our Province New Brunswick (PoPNB) is a grassroots organization run entirely by volunteers. Donations to this campaign will help us purchase high quality face masks, rapid test kits and printed materials.
In addition to a wide variety of advocacy efforts, our volunteers have been working hard for over 2 years to provide thousands of free face masks and hundreds of free rapid test kits to communities in every corner of New Brunswick. Our efforts are a mutual aid-based direct response to failed political and public health leadership.
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to kill and disable New Brunswick citizens, the impact of rampant infection continues to inflict misery on families and puts strain on our healthcare system. We have an obvious moral obligation to help prevent death and disability, yet it is becoming increasingly difficult for PoPNB to sustain the work of protecting our province without help from public donations.
Most of our volunteers have used their own personal funds to purchase masks and pay for shipping costs. With growing demands and increased costs, as well as the end of free rapid tests, previously provided by the provincial government, we are struggling to keep up with demand.
This fundraising campaign hopes to tackle three major barriers facing New Brunswickers: cost, access and information. Any contributions made to this campaign will help us:
- Purchase high quality masks and test kits: We will take advantage of bulk discounts and on-line sales whenever possible. Funds will be used for purchasing, shipping, and local transportation costs of masks and tests. This will help us maintain our commitment to providing these items completely free to the citizens of New Brunswick.
- Disseminate Information: PoPNB is rooted in the belief that all citizens should have easy-to-access information specific to the growing body of credible evidence on SARS-CoV-2 / Covid-19 transmission, risks and protection measures. As such, our volunteers are actively engaged in advocacy work that includes printing handouts/stickers.
Masks and test kits can be requested by any New Brunswicker by filling out
our on-line request form. When accepting requests for supplies we serve on a first come, first served basis.
